#VAGABONDZREVIEW: LOSING GRAVITY BY BLOCK BUSTER - THE LOUDEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR

Even long 10 years worth waiting. One week ago Finnish hard-rock band Block Buster released the long-awaited debut album “Losing Gravity” which has already received positive response from legendary Classic Rock Magazine (UK)... It it just the very beginning?
No, of course not. This album must become one of the best releases of 2019. Wondering why?
The sound of the new record starts impressing right from the opening track “Out In The City” - which definitely gives us the short description of the music we are going to listen to. The silent begging of this one is like noticing - the explosion is coming... It has really arrived with that high energy chorus that is blowing your mind up with the very first sound! What a feeling! “Gone By The Morning” continues to keep this bright beginning. “Flammable” has really memorable sound, but still the new music is more technically improved comparing to their earlier works. Talking about the other releases, “Move” single and music video was released this year and it really worth watching, ‘cause the guys have made the storyline video. It helps catching the song mood and it’s just interesting one to see. Moreover, the band released new music video for “Gone By The Morning”! It’s available for watching on YouTube.
I suppose, now it’s a time to stop with telling you about the other songs even though it’s wouldn’t be interesting for listening if I tell everything now... just a little spoiler. So, to spend this rainy (and somewhere snowy) Friday night you’ll just need two things - Losing Gravity and some drink you really like. As for me, tea or coffee suits very well.
To sum up, I’d like to say - after it listening to this killer debut I WANT to hear the new songs live. It’s the compulsory factor for me as for the musician. Of course I saw some videos from yesterday’s Lost In Music Festival (Tampere) but still...
IN THE VERY BEGINNING:
I’ve been listening to Block Buster since 2016 and saw them live in the same year. Their live show was the reason why I started listening to this band. That cold Lahti winter they could make Sibeliustalo the hottest venue in the country! They were the supporting act for almighty Santa Cruz who were having their Oispa Kesä tour. I was impressed by Block Buster’s hard riffs and Aarni Metsäpelto’s vocal style. That’s why I decided to fill up my Apple Music library with some Block Buster music. At that moment they had the EP called “Ain’t On The Chain” which was warmly met by their audience. Then guys had a lot of tours and summer festivals shows including ones of the most famous rock / metal festivals in Finland - Tuska Open Air, KuopioRock and many many others. But unfortunately, they still hadn’t released the debut album...
Last year I saw the guys’ Instagram post where they were sharing some studio photos. One more pleasant thing was their producer - Joonas Parkkonen who definitely has his style and do the best in every record he produced. That’s why I was patiently waiting for the next year to come....
Thanks to everyone involved in making this awesome debut album! It was really worth waiting for so long.
