After the grand concert as Scorpions support band, Moscow hard n' heavy representatives are about to hit the local stages with their new single.

The single 'Give It A Try' is a nice possibility to catch up the old times for all 80s hard rock fans. In the earlier Perfect Crime albums and singles heavy riffs in combination with wild and energetic vocals prevailed and those have become distinctive features for Perfect Crime to stand out from the crowd on local Moscow stage.
'Give It A Try' release ensures us that Perfect Crime can develop inside their genre. The song starts in a bit unusual way for the band - the continuing guitar solo that turns into long double one! I've caught even a bit blues rock vibes in that one. That's something particularly new for the band - before we heard that element only in main solo parts. Now it's the good idea to use it in the intro.
Then it comes to that Perfect Crime's main distinctive feature - their guitar riffs. This one is less heavy than we were able to head before, but I think it should be precisely this single's feature. It's more close to 80s music than to modern metal influence.
Vocal parts sound in verses gave me one more association to 80s. When it enters I have much Klaus Meine vibes but when the song part has changed I hear typical vocal style of Perfect Crime I'm seriously into.
The song at all is lead guitar parts rich, we hear guitar melodies almost all the time exepting chorus that I'm sure to be real hit material for the band. There's one interesting pecularity and something new for the band's sound in chorus. It's 80s inspired key melody that is associated with many and many rock bands I like and even some old-school pop tunes I used to hear when watching music channels. The chorus is catchy as it should be and it has a good potential to catch the new listeners' attention when playing in some playlist for instance.
Solo part is definetely one of my favorites in this song. It's varible and attention grabbing but personally I'd like to add some energy to rhythm guitar that sounds background to emphasize this bright solo. My second favorite moment is the song bridge that was made to get crowd great crowd response and sing aloud. Communicating with crowd is important when especially presenting the new song, and including this in to the single bridge is essential.
Comparing to the debut self-titled album released in 2013 and The Battlefield in 2019, this song seems a bit pop and easier for listening. But happily it doesn't sound like copying song structure from their favorite bands. Yeah, it's 80s inspired but it's not exact 80s or some particular song, they still stay Perfect Crime who keep saving their uniqueness. This band is one of the most talanted I'm familiar with. They've been always doing their business with great love to music and paying much attention to creating high quality sound and developing themselves as musicians. The new single is another proof that the band can sound different inside the genre they play and add new elements to that.
P.S. Don't miss the upcoming Perfect Crime gig in Moscow that will take place in Live Stars club on May 3. We should hear 'Give It A Try' there for sure and have some fun that night.
