This week is gonna be big for great releases! Today, melodic death metal band Thy Kingdom Will Burn from Kouvola, Finland released the first single from the debut self-titled album.

The debut Thy Kingdom Will Burn album cover. Available on June 18 via Scarlet Records

Usually it takes me pretty long to go into some song. I have to listen to that for 2-3 times to say - yeah, it's definetely what I like (or not). This time the things went quite obvious and after the first 'Follow The Fallen' listening I can say it without any doubts - this is what makes me feel alive!

Melodic death metal has been my all time favorite genre mostly because of growling vocals and complex guitar parts that keep inspiring me and giving great motivation as for guitar player. The combination of those named features can create this feeling of lasting adrenaline inside you and when hear such kind of music live it becomes insane.

Distinguishing 'Follow The Fallen' from all melodic death metal songs I've heard, it's significant to point out its guitar parts sound throughout the song. The lead one is catchy, especially I liked how it emphasizes double vocal part in chorus. The rhythm guitar line is fast, thrashy and it gives so much energy to the basement of the song. It's also nicely combines with drums; the bass drum sound is firm and keeps highlighting the rhythm of the song in great way.

Chorus part is really strong and attention grabbing as it should be. It sounds pretty wide and adds up to power of the song wery well. The feature that immideatly jumps into my mind is how I like the combination of growling and clean backing vocals. Moreover, I think it would be interesting to hear clean vocals part in the upcoming album songs because the voice seemed great for lead parts also. One more thing that makes the chorus just mind-blowing is of course the lead guitar melody perfectly compliments both vocal styles and adds noticible high sound to whole composition.

Growling vocals sound in just perfect way and it's accompanied by lead guitar part that makes both verses sound powerful and heavy indeed. After the second chorus there's so fast and energetic bridge so it has made me headbanging instantly. I imagine how cool would it sound live, especially some open air festival and I would like to visit that show for sure.

After listening to 'Follow The Fallen' for many times I can say that I'm impatiently looking forward to hear the whole record. I'm already sure that it would be true melodic death metal stuff sound so heavy, thrashy and moving that would make every listener headbanging wild standing in the first row on their live show.
